"I Was Bullied"
The young actress claimed she was subjected to long-term, systematic psychological abuse by a female co-star.
She explained that the actress she worked with on the same show constantly insulted her and made the pressure on set unbearable.
“She called me ‘trashy.’ She came at me, and I was shaking with fear. No one was on my side. They kept saying, ‘You’re young, just deal with it.’ But I’m someone’s daughter too. I could tell she was going to slap me… and honestly, she could. They were giving her that right,” she said.” Şahin shared.
"She Started Yelling, ‘You Used Violence!’"
Recalling one of the most intense moments, Şahin said she genuinely feared the actress was about to physically assault her.
“She came at me, and out of reflex, I shut the door in her direction. The door hit her. Then she started screaming, ‘You used violence!’ I said, ‘You’ve been violent toward me for 25 weeks—what are you yelling about now?’” Şahin revealed.
After being nominated for “Best Actress” for her role as Ceren Yılmaz, Şahin said the pressure on set only worsened.
“It was like chaos broke out on set. She said to me, ‘Who do you think you are? You really think you can win this award? They hand those out to everyone anyway,’” Şahin added.
Mine Tugay Responds
On social media, rumors quickly spread claiming that the actress who bullied Bahar Şahin was Mine Tugay.
After the allegations made headlines, Mine Tugay broke her silence and issued her first statement via her social media account.
“Hello. Anyone who knows me is well aware that I would never use the kind of language or tone I’ve been accused of. When my friends told me about the false accusations, I was honestly saddened,” she wrote.
“Because while I clearly remember the truth, being accused of things I never said feels disrespectful and like an attempt to single me out. Naturally, I don’t believe this is coming from a place of good intentions. Still, I wish everyone well. You didn’t want me to stay silent, so I wanted to say this—just once—without hurting or upsetting anyone. Love,” she added.
