Can Yaman Issues Strong Statement Against Toxic Fans: You’re Living a Ridiculous Fantasy

Turkish actor Can Yaman has posted a powerful message on social media, calling out the toxic behavior of some of his fans.

In just a few years, Can Yaman has gone from being virtually unknown internationally to becoming one of the most recognized actors not only in Turkey but also in several other countries. One of those countries is Spain, where his hit series like Dolunay and Erkenci Kus, aired on Divinity, turned him into a household name. However, this intense fandom has also led to unhealthy behaviors, which the actor decided to publicly denounce through a message on social media.

“I Don’t Like Seeing You, Hearing You, or Anything About You”

Posting on his Instagram Stories—where he returned just a few months ago—Yaman shared a lengthy message in English addressed to his over 700,000 followers. In it, he directly criticized those who maintain a “toxic” attitude. Specifically, he called out “haters pretending to be fans,” who link him to past on-screen partners or believe they have a secret relationship with him “just because they’ve spoken to a fake account pretending to be me.” His message to them was clear: “please do me a favor and LEAVE…”

In recent weeks, Yaman publicly confirmed his relationship with DJ Sara Bluma. Addressing the backlash and bizarre fan fantasies surrounding his private life, he didn’t hold back:

“I don’t like seeing you, or hearing you, or anything about you. I don’t appreciate you. You are “scary” people living in a “ridiculous fantasy” attacking everyone and every woman around me.,” he wrote,

referring not only to his current girlfriend but also to former partners who have suffered similar treatment.

He admitted that he once hoped this intensity would fade with time, but instead, “You’re totally out of control.”

“I’m Not My Characters. I’m an Actor.”

Yaman also urged these supposed fans to redirect their energy elsewhere:

“Please go “love” or “hate” some other fiction couple or whoever you want, but leave me and people around me alone. I’m not my characters. I’m an actor. I owe nothing to no one, and definitely don’t need anyone’s approval for anything.”

He went on to say, “ If you’ve kindly chosen to love me unconditionally; then great, love me! And I will love you back. Otherwise, don’t! But stop spreading poison.”

“My Job Is to Change”

Ending his message with even stronger words, Yaman addressed those who accuse him of changing:
And stop saying that “I’ve changed”, that’s very retarded of you to say. Because my job is to “change”, actors “change” We have to live on and change.

He encouraged the so-called fans to go follow someone who never changes or plays the same role for 30 years, “That’s what you deserve. Not me” He concluded:

“Love me or hate me, I’m going to keep shining either way.”

Fans Rally Behind Him

On platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Yaman’s words were met with support from many fan accounts who distanced themselves from the toxic behavior he condemned. Some even suggested that other Turkish stars with similarly intense fandoms should follow Yaman’s lead and speak out against obsessive behavior.
