The first guest to enter the studio for a surprise was Raoul Bova. Massimiliano and his mother Luisa, meanwhile, were the focus of the second story.
Can Yaman hugs Grandma Pina: “I lost my grandmother three weeks ago—she didn’t have anyone left to live for.”
Grandma Pina opens the envelope and finds her grandchildren standing in front of her. “Grandma, you are the most important person in our lives. You raised us as if you were our mother. Life with you wasn’t easy, but you always kept going, and you taught us to be strong—just like you are.”
Maria reads Pina the letter written by her grandchildren, and the woman is moved to tears. It’s a message filled with thanks and life memories from these young men whom Pina helped raise. Toward the end of the surprise, Can Yaman enters the studio singing “Rose Rosse” by Massimo Ranieri. “I also grew up with my grandmothers,” the actor says, “and I lost my paternal grandmother three weeks ago. She was an angel—a lioness like you. I think she gave up because she didn’t have anyone left to live for. My maternal grandmother is a singer, more of a free spirit. In Italy, I’ve met so many grandmothers—I’ve had others too. Yesterday I met an 84-year-old woman at the promotion for the series I filmed. She was angry because they were pronouncing my name wrong. I’m happy to receive this love from women. And today I met you.” The actor gave Pina a ring considered a lucky charm— a symbol of her warrior spirit.
