Kerem Bürsin apologizes after controversy: actor called those who don't wear masks stupid

Kerem Bürsin has been hit by controversy once again. Weeks after the awkward incident at an awards show where the presenter talked about how much he was paid for each episode of 'Love is in the air', the actor has been involved in another controversy when during an Instagram live with his partner Hande Erçel they answered questions of their followers.

When asked about the pandemic and the use of masks, the actor did not hesitate to attack all those who do not use the proper protection and those who do not comply with safety protocols. "If you take off your mask, excuse me, but you're stupid. Think about your family and other people," the actor pointed out. His words did not take long to provoke a wave of reactions against him through social media where many of his supporters used the hashtag #haddinibilkerembuersin (stay in your place Kerem Bürsin).
Faced with the barrage of criticism and despite the unconditional support of his followers, the actor has decided to apologize in a video posted on his Twitter profile. "I apologize for using the word idiot. My statements were not appropriate. I should have used another word," said the actor, who still emphasized the need to respect the rules and wear the mask. "We have been fighting the pandemic for 1 year. It has been difficult for everyone but we have to wear the mask to avoid Covid-19. We have reached the top in cases and this is not pleasant," he has insisted in his video apology.
