Demet Özdemir has made the leap from romantic comedy to drama and her risky move has worked out well. The actress has made a qualitative leap and has consolidated her career and popularity.

Despite that success, Demet remains grounded and, aware that fame can be fleeting and that her situation can change, she feels ready for whatever comes next. "I'm not afraid of losing popularity. What I am afraid of losing is people's love, which I don't attribute to popularity," the actress confessed. 

Her leap into drama

Erkenci kus' or 'Room 309' made her the queen of romantic comedy in Turkey. However, Demet has been able to recycle herself and change her career path. Her role in 'My Home, My Destiny' has given her the opportunity to show her talent for drama. "Now I enjoy it," says the actress, who wants to explore new registers and face new challenges. "It will be a great thrill and joy for me to do something different in every project, in every TV series. It would be exciting to play a serial killer. 'My Home, My Destiny' is very psychological work. It's a drama with many corners, but a series in which a woman plays the killer can be beautiful," the actress said.

But the actress dreams are not limited to her television career. After several years of triumphing on the small screen, she aspires to get up on stage and perform in front of an audience. "I studied theater before acting in television series. But I haven't experienced it. I would love to do theater. Although I don't think this will happen in the short term, I would love it in the long term."
