Can Yaman, Ahmet Somers: 'We had a father-son relationship even behind the scenes'

Can Yaman and Ahmet Somers worked together in DayDreamer - The Wings of Dream. In a recent interview, the actor who plays Aziz Divit talked about the Istanbul-based actor, explaining what kind of relationship they had on set and behind the scenes. In addition, Ahmet explained, in his opinion, what the success of Turkish soaps is due to and revealed that he plans to work in theater with some of his colleagues from Love is in the Air and DayDreamer.

Can Yaman played the role of Can Divit in DayDreamer - The Wings of Dream and, in the Turkish soap, the role of his father was played by Ahmet Somers.

The actor of Aziz Divit, in a recent interview, recalled what it was like to work on the set with the protagonist of Viola come il mare. In this regard, Somers stated, ''We had a father-son relationship even behind the scenes.'' In addition, Ahmet explained that he has been an actor for thirty-six years and, fortunately, with some success.

Regarding the father roles he played in DayDreamer - The Wings of Dream and Love is in the Air, Ahmet revealed that they both share a part of him, but in reality, he feels different from his characters. Especially, thinking back to the role of Can, Emre, and Serkan's dad, Somers revealed that in everyday life, he would get along with all three of them.

Furthermore, the Aziz Divit interpreter confided, ''I don't have a favorite, but the one closest to Ahmet Mark Somers' personality is Can Divit, without a doubt.''

The interpreter of Aziz Divit also expressed words of esteem towards Can Yaman, adding: ''Seeing new talents like him being born and being able to work with them is a privilege, as well as a joy''.

Moreover, Somers explained why Turkish series are having a huge success and, according to him, people would find relief in these dramas. In particular, the actor said: ''I believe that the problems come from the universal economic crisis, the pandemic, social isolation and the consequent forced distancing of people from love and romance''.

Ahmet also revealed that he plans to work in the theater with some of his colleagues from DayDreamer and Love is in the Air, but he did not reveal the names. In this regard, the actor said: ''I'll share it with you as soon as it is certain''. We just have to wait a while to find out if Can Yaman and Ahmet Somers will be together again, maybe in the theater.
