Hande Erçel is the Best Global Actress of the Year for the Global Nubia Awards (GNAs), Nubia magazine's awards that were presented on November 14. The Love is in the air star was the winner thanks to the people's votes, which were collected in 56 different countries, including Italy, Brazil, Turkey, and Russia.
Erçel has a very loyal and organized legion of fans. As they have demonstrated on other occasions, her followers flock to any call to pay tribute to the actress's work and get recognition of this style. The strength of the 'fandom' also came to the fore with the end of the soap opera in which she starred alongside Kerem Bürsin. Fans made the episode the most tweeted episode in history, surpassing Game of Thrones.
Erçel won the position over such esteemed names as Emily Blunt (Jungle Cruise), Phoebe Dynevor (The Bridgertons), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow). She also won over Turkish industry peers such as Elçin Sangu, star of I Rent You My Love. The Best Global Actress of the Year category "recognizes and celebrates the best and most influential actresses from around the world" in 2021.
The performer already has experience in this awards thing. She often appears - or used to - at the Turkey Youth Awards and is a familiar face at the Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards, where she is frequently nominated for Best Actress, but also with her co-stars, as was the case with Tolga Saritas in Günesin Kizlari or Kerem Bürsin in Love is in the air.
She is now in a period of reflection. After finishing filming Love is in the air, the series that has catapulted him to international fame, she has entered a phase of preparation, rather than action. If Turkish media reports are true, Erçel will move to the United States to further her training as an interpreter and practice her English.
