Can Yaman, backstory on Sandokan: 'I had reached 100 kg, then they stopped filming'

Can Yaman continues to be the character of the moment and, in a recent interview with "Sorrisi e Canzoni", he returned to talk about his next professional commitment that will see him as the protagonist of the fiction Sandokan. An ambitious project that, however, was put aside last year, due to the Covid epidemic that was rampant in our country.

Can Yaman's words on the remake of Sandokan

The Turkish actor revealed some backstory related to the filming of the remake of Sandokan, saying that at first he did not know this character and did not know that it was a real icon of our television.

"I didn't know him, I prepared myself and realized how important he was, that's why I felt even more honored," admitted the actor of the moment, just back from a summer that saw him at the center of Gossip for his much talked about love affair with Diletta Leotta.

"It's an international project and I'll be acting in English, we were supposed to shoot it last year but because of Covid we stopped. But I had trained and I was very loaded," admitted Can Yaman without hiding a hint of bitterness for the stop that was given to the shooting of the fiction.

However, fortunately, the project has not been put aside definitively, as the filming of Sandokan is scheduled to start in 2022 and will keep the Turkish actor busy for quite some time.

"I was 100 kilos," Can then revealed, revealing this behind-the-scenes story about the fiction and the training he had to do to prepare himself in the best possible way for this new challenge that will see him as a protagonist in the prime time of Rai's national network.

However, in view of the start of filming, Can will have to rework his physical appearance, since in recent months he has had to lose some pounds. Before dedicating himself to the filming of Sandokan, Can is concentrating on those of "Viola come il mare", a new series in six episodes, destined for prime time on Canale 5 and scheduled to air from March 2022.

New fiction for Can Yaman also on Canale 5

At his side in this new adventure will be the actress and former Miss Italy, Francesca Chillemi, with whom in recent weeks there have been rumors of a possible flirtation in progress.

Regarding this new fiction that will see him starring as Francesco Demir, Can has revealed that he had to lose about 10 kilos, thus returning to 90 kg." For Sandokan I will recover muscle mass," revealed the Turkish actor who has bewitched the Italian fans.
