Can Yaman is Sandokan, they are looking for Marianna: the 5 actresses in contention for the role

Can Yaman is finally ready to take on the role of Sandokan. The Turkish actor has been chosen by Lux Vide as the successor of Kabir Bedi, who became popular thanks to the 1970s TV series inspired by Emilio Salgari's novel. The shooting of the new TV series, which will be aired on Rai Uno, will start next June and will take place between Italy, the Philippines, and Thailand.

According to the weekly Nuovo Tv, the producers are looking for an island to rent: a way to stay away from the Covid-19 and from prying eyes. Can Yaman will be joined by Luca Argentero and Raoul Bova: the first will play Sandokan's right-hand man, Yanez, while the role of the second is still unknown. Who will play Marianna instead?

Lux Vide, the production company in charge of the project, has not yet decided. According to the magazine directed by Riccardo Signoretti, there are five actresses in the running: Sarah Felberbaum, Miriam Leone, Matilde Gioli, Blanca Suarez, and Nathalie Rapti Gomez.

The first three are very well known in Italy: Felberbaum is a famous actress as well as the wife of former soccer player Daniele De Rossi; Leone became an established performer after winning Miss Italia and finally Gioli, who became popular thanks to Doc-Nelle tue mani.

Blanca Suarez, on the other hand, is an actress and model from Madrid who is very well known in Spain: she worked in Italy in 2014, in the miniseries La bella e la bestia alongside Alessandro Preziosi. On the contrary, Nathalie Rapti Gomez is Colombian but has been living in Rome for a long time.

She has participated in several TV series: L'ispettore Coliandro, Sangue caldo, Baciamo le mani, I segreti di Borgo Larici, Diavoli. Many appearances also in cinema, in purely secondary roles. It is useless to underline that Sandokan could be the great occasion for Gomez.

All the five actresses competing for Sandokan have one thing in common: clear eyes. After all, the literary description of Marianne is very clear:

A slender and elegant maiden, superbly shaped, with rosy and fresh skin, with two blue eyes like sea water and blond hair.

Therefore, the hypothesis of seeing next to Can Yaman the former flame Demet Ozdemir and Alessandra Mastronardi has been eliminated. Both have dark eyes and hair, definitely far from the canons of Marianna in Sandokan.
