Oscars 2022: Jada Pinkett Smith comes out of silence following Will Smith's slap to Chris Rock

Following the famous slap of Will Smith to Chris Rock during the Oscars 2022, Jada Pinkett Smith finally came out of silence on her Instagram account, on March 29, 2022.

The 94th Academy Awards ceremony will go down in history. On March 27, 2022, the biggest stars of the planet were gathered to celebrate cinema. But when Chris Rock went on stage, the atmosphere became tense, especially when the comedian made a bad joke about the shaved head of Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia. Very angry, her husband Will Smith landed without warning and gave a big slap to Chris Rock, who continued to put on a brave face and did not decide to file a complaint against the actor. Since then, this violent act has caused a lot of talks and the Academy of the Oscars has opened an investigation.

If Chris Rock can now rejoice to see that the sales of his show explode, several celebrities have spoken out and some have disapproved of this gesture. After all the fuss, Jada Pinkett Smith finally came out of the silence on March 29, 2022, and simply wrote the following sentence on her Instagram account, "This is a season for healing and I'm here for it." The latter probably wants to move on, just like her husband, who apologized, on March 28, 2022.

Will Smith regrets his action

On Instagram, Will Smith wrote this long message, "violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.

I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.

I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
I am a work in progress."
