The rumors of Jimin and TWICE's Jeongyeon dating first surfaced in 2017. Many people say that Jimin and Jeongyeon are in a "love-hate relationship," meaning a relationship of love and hate.

Back then, there was a lot of speculation that they were dating. When Jimin sings a song and Jeongyeon participates, Jimin also acts sarcastically toward Jeongyeon at the end of the song. Since many moments of the two were filmed by fans, people called them "Tom and Jerry".
