Kerem Bürsin; We were all No Name'

As part of the Beyoğlu Kültür Yolu Festivals, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the second time between May 28th and June 12th this year, Cinema Talks have started.  The first guest of the talks held at Atlas 1948 Cinema was the famous actor Kerem Bürsin.  In the conversation moderated by Ömür Sabuncuoğlu, Kerem Bürsin talked about "Cinema as an Actor and Audience".

Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who made a surprise visit to the hall before the conversation, had a short conversation with the audience participating in the conversation. Mayor Yıldız thanked Kerem Bürsin and Ömür Sabuncuoğlu for their participation in the Beyoğlu Culture Road Festival and presented flowers.

I knew I would earn my bread from this sector

Stating that he believed that he would definitely work in the movie industry before he started acting, Bürsin said, "I said that I would definitely earn my bread from the cinema, even if not from acting. I started acting in high school. We had a small market at the university. I was very curious about TV and cinema when I was a student. For this reason, my last year was always busy," he said.

We were all No Name

The famous actor, who spent most of his life in the US, explained the differences between the US and Turkey: "They are more disciplined and professional. The working conditions there are safer and they think more about the team," he explained. Bürsin also mentioned that the conditions for female actors in our country are more difficult and that the performance expected from women is always higher, "Young people should also be given opportunities. We were all No Name for a period," he said.

We are doing good work at the Emmys

Kerem Bürsin pointed out that recently, especially films with biographical stories have gained great success and said, "We need to get into the magic of cinema a little more. We always make someone's life in the movies. Yes, there are many human stories to be told in our country, but we should also turn to other things." Regarding the movie awards, the famous actor said, "Even if the Oscar does not come to Turkey, I would love to be nominated. We are doing good work at the Emmys."
