Can Yaman in a post on Instagram: 'Yes, it's still me'

Turkish actor Can Yaman in recent hours made a post on Instagram from his hotel room in Budapest, where he is currently staying. In the image he looks elegant, in a black suit wrapped in a long white shawl, reflective and confident. "Yes, it's still me," is the caption to the photo.

That post has been interpreted by some as a response to criticism received following the not-so-positive results of the first episodes of the Mediaset drama " Viola Come il Mare," in which Yaman stars.

Can Yaman's social post

On Monday, Oct. 24, Can Yaman published a post from Budapest with his own photo and an English-language caption, "Yes, it's still me...," garnering more than 400,000 likes in about 24 hours and thousands of comments.

Yaman stars in Viola Come il mare.

Beginning Sept. 30, "Viola come il mare" will air on Canale 5, a drama around which there was great expectation, given the huge TV promotion that took place during the summer months with commercials and backstage specials.

Viola (Francesca Chillemi) is a journalist who has chromo-musical synesthesia, that is, she associates colors and sounds with the people in front of her and discovers that she has a strong investigative instinct.

Francesco (Can Yaman), on the other hand, is a policeman: a love story soon intertwines between the two.

The fiction's ratings are not too good

Numerically the drama has not been as successful as hoped, after the first episode that in terms of Auditel ratings had seemed satisfactory with a 20 percent share against Rai 1's "Tale e quale show," then in the following weeks, Mediaset's TV Series continued to lose consensus until it reached 16.3 percent in the last episode aired on Friday, October 21.

These are definitely not the worst figures recorded by Mediaset dramas, but considering the huge amount of promotion done in the past months, the choice of Lux Vide, the production house of so many TV hits, " Viola come il mare " cannot be classified as a success.

In addition, in recent weeks, there has been no shortage of critical comments on social media toward the leads and in particular to Can Yaman himself, whom some have referred to as "the pretty boy who can't act."

Although there have also been several appreciations to the Turkish actor, especially from numerous Italian female viewers, the same ones who in these hours are appreciating the Instagram post and photo published by Yaman in Budapest.
