Can Yaman breaks the silence after the terrible earthquake that devastated Turkey and Syria last Feb. 6, killing 40,000 people.

The star of the TV series Viola come il mare, currently busy with the filming of the new drama titled "El Turco," has chosen to take the field himself and has done so by activating an immediate fundraiser with his association, to support the people who have lost everything after this tragedy.

Among other things, the cast of Terra Amara bade farewell on social media to actress Emel Atici who died in the earthquake with her daughter.

Interviewed by the weekly magazine "Grazie," the Turkish star who has bewitched Italian audiences admitted that his life literally changed when he learned the terrible news of the earthquake that destroyed his homeland.

"My family and loved ones live in Istanbul (more than 1,000 kilometers away from the epicenter) so they did not suffer any damage, but the thought of the earthquake, the missing people, and the victims accompanies me every minute and grieves me deeply," Can Yaman said.

The fact remains that in light of this terrible earthquake that has struck his homeland, the Turkish star has chosen to take the field himself and has done so by pulling in his foundation to raise money and resources for the people who have lost everything.

"I activated a fundraiser to bring concrete aid to people in need," Can Yaman revealed, adding that in the face of this immense tragedy, he could not stand still.

The Turkish actor also began sponsoring the fundraising link on social media, where he is currently followed by more than 10 million followers on Instagram alone, making him one of the most influential and beloved actors among the public.

Meanwhile, the actor continues to be very busy on the set of the series "El Turco" but, over the next few months, he will also be busy again with the filming of the second season of Viola come il mare, the Mediaset drama in which he stars with Francesca Chillemi.
