SCAMMER ALERT!!! They impersonate Can Yaman to steal earthquake donations in Turkey.

A tragedy like the one that has happened in Turkey is able to show the most supportive side and also the evilest side of the human being. Can Yaman this morning launched through its association 'Can Yaman for children' a collection of donations that will go directly to those affected by the terrible earthquake that has devastated southern Turkey and part of Syria and has left hundreds of thousands of families homeless or has taken the lives of so far more than 25,000 Turkish and Syrian citizens.

In a story and post anchored on his Instagram profile, Can Yaman communicated that donations can be made through a link that appeared in the image.

Can Yaman is thus asking for help for those affected by the earthquake in Turkey:

🇹🇷 There are no right words in such a bleak situation, but we felt it is our duty to prepare and participate in this relief initiative for all those in need.
Turkey has recently experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake, the most devastating natural disaster in its history and its population is currently going through an overwhelming situation.

Here we ask for your support. Can Yaman for Children will donate the proceeds of the fundraiser to Ahbap in order to participate in a concrete and supportive way and offer important help to the people affected by this tragedy.

Scammers impersonate Can Yaman to steal donations

This is when the worst side of the human being appears, taking advantage of the fact that the link leads to one of these links....

...has decided to clone a link with an identical appearance to appropriate the donations that citizens around the world are trying to get to those affected by the earthquake.

Twitter accounts like Can Yaman English are already denouncing the fraud with which they impersonate Can Yaman to steal donations.

Most of the Scammers are operating through Facebook, a place where Can Yaman has no presence, so if you see on that social network someone pretending to be Can Yaman and asking for money, be suspicious and block him.

Other Scammers use a membership system whereby 'Gold', 'Silver' or 'Bronze' fan accounts are awarded based on donations made that never reach their intended recipients.

They even send this crude montage of Can Yaman showing his ID to prove that it is him in person who is asking for money.

Undoubtedly a crime they are committing under cover of the confusion that the earthquake is generating, but we trust that it will be prosecuted by the justice system as soon as possible.

How to protect yourself from those who impersonate Can Yaman and donate safely?
