EXO's Chen is set to hold his wedding ceremony in October, 3 years after getting married.
In 2020, Chen officially tied the knot with his fiancée, and the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in April 2020. Then, in January 2022, they welcomed their second child, another girl.
On August 16th, Korean media revealed that Chen and his wife would be organizing a wedding ceremony next October, three years after their official marriage.
Shortly after, SM Entertainment confirmed that Chen would be having a private wedding ceremony in October.
Netizens have expressed mixed reactions to this announcement, writing:
"At least Bobby left his group, Chen must be the only idol with two children right now. Even EXO-L feels embarrassed by him, but Kim Jongdaeddy here has the thickest skin of them all."
"Kim Jongdae... no one cares about whether you're getting married or having your third child, please just stop, please. Such a selfish guy, staying in the group like that while doing whatever he wants. All your fans have already left, you only have a few international fans left."
"Huh? Didn't he have a church wedding or something? And it was during the peak of COVID when he had the 100-day ceremony for his baby in a famous hotel and even sponsored a postnatal stay for his wife ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Now he's having another wedding? What an attention seeker... It's always the members who never communicate with their fans that cause the biggest scandals like this. I'd at least try to keep communication open with my fans. Doesn't he feel sorry for his fans who are using everything they have to try to defend him? ㅋㅋ"
"Please, just leave EXO already..."
"Yeah, please, take all the money you need from the wedding envelopes and leave EXO with it."
"No one cares."
"I thought he had his ceremony in a church? What's this now?"
"So what do you expect from us? Congratulations? I'm not even in the fandom and his news still annoys me. If he wanted the blessing of his fans, he should have treated them better from the beginning. He's the one who behaved in a way that turned them all away while refusing to leave the group. The public and fans would have given him their blessing if he had treated them better. The audacity to come out now and say 'Please give me your blessings because I'm getting married now' ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ yes, none of us intend to do that."
"He better be grateful to his company + the members for sticking with him throughout. He would have never become as rich or famous as he is as a solo. Fans worked so hard to protect him only to be treated like this... I still wish he would go solo instead of staying as an idol."
