Author Arzum Uzun has filed a lawsuit against the producers and Disney, alleging that the script of the TV series "Dünyayla Benim Aramda" (Between Me and the World), starring Demet Özdemir and Buğra Gülsoy, was copied from her book.
The TV series "Dünyayla Benim Aramda" featuring Demet Özdemir, Hafsanur Sancaktutan, Zerrin Tekindor, and Buğra Gülsoy, is now embroiled in a legal dispute.
Arzum Uzun claims that a story from her book titled "Süper Zeki Bir Kadının Über Salak Hikayesi" (The Story of a Super Smart Woman's Über Stupid Tale) was used without permission in the TV series "Dünyayla Benim Aramda" .She has filed a compensation lawsuit against Disney and the production company MF Yapım, seeking 1,010,000 Turkish Liras in damages. Arzum Uzun's lawyer, Ali Nail Bahadır, stated in the lawsuit petition that her client's material and moral rights over the work were harmed due to unauthorized use.
He added, "This situation has caused harm to our client. The digital platform company and MF Yapım, which have harmed our client, should rectify this situation. Therefore, since the exact amount of material damage to our client is uncertain, we are currently seeking the collection of 10,000 Turkish Liras in material compensation and 1 million Turkish Liras in moral compensation from the two defendant companies, along with interest, with our rights regarding additional damages reserved for the future."
