Korean Netizens Express Their Pride in BLACKPINK

The members of the K-pop group BLACKPINK were honored with the Order of the British Empire at Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday (local time). King Charles III of the United Kingdom conferred this honor in recognition of their efforts in combating climate change as ambassadors for the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Glasgow (COP26) in 2021.

Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie have become honorary members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). The Order of the British Empire is typically reserved for British or Commonwealth citizens. However, there is an "honorary" version that can be exceptionally conferred upon foreign citizens.

On Korean online communities, netizens shared how proud they are of the girl group members. They wrote:

"BLACKPINK is simply real luxury," "They are all gorgeous," "Lisa is so adorable," "I am so proud," "Lisa is so beautiful, and Jennie is so cute," "How can all four members be so beautiful?" "I can't believe they were invited to Buckingham Palace; I am so proud," "They all look stunning," and more.
