None of the BLACKPINK members will renew their individual contracts with YG Entertainment.
Recently, the agency announced that the members had renewed their contract with YG for BLACKPINK's group activities. However, the individual contracts of the members were still pending, and JENNIE had, on her part, opened her own agency to manage her personal activities.
On December 29, YG announced that none of the BLACKPINK members would renew their individual contracts with the agency.
The company stated:
"Hello, this is YG Entertainment.
BLACKPINK recently renewed their contract with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to sign additional contracts for the individual activities of the members.
We will do our best to support BLACKPINK's group activities and will warmly encourage the members in their individual pursuits.
Thank you."
