The series "Viola Come Il Mare," in which Can Yaman plays the lead role, has been airing in many countries around the world and recently started streaming on the digital platform BluTV in Turkey.
The actor expressed his disapproval of the platform's decision to censor the scene involving rakı, a traditional Turkish alcoholic beverage. Yaman took to social media to voice his reaction, stating, "I would like to thank those who allow foreigners, who unfortunately do not know about rakı, to experience a censored version of rakı that we cannot drink on Turkish television. If rakı belonged to the Italians, they would advertise it everywhere and introduce it to the whole world, making it a beloved beverage."
Yaman's comments highlight his frustration with the inconsistency in censorship practices and the missed opportunity to showcase Turkish culture.
