Can Yaman is extremely busy in Calabria filming Sandokan and was interviewed on Tg1, where he shared some spoilers.
The Turkish star Can Yaman is deeply involved in the filming of the new Rai Uno series, Sandokan, in Calabria. The actor, who will play the role of the Tiger of Malaysia, was interviewed on Tg1. In a surprise move, he revealed some details about the first episodes of the series, which will air on Rai in the coming months.
Since the end of April, Can Yaman has been busy on the set of the first season of Sandokan in Calabria. The village of Labuan, where the adventures of the Tiger of Malaysia take place, has been perfectly recreated in the region. The character, created by Emilio Salgari, was originally brought to life in a successful television series in the 1970s by Kabir Bedi.
Can Yaman Interviewed on Tg1 as Sandokan
The Sandokan project, produced by Lux Vide, was announced several years ago, but the Turkish star was always busy with other successful projects like the series Daydreamer or Viola come il mare. However, in recent months, the project has resurfaced, featuring an international cast and a script entirely in English. For Yaman, this was an unprecedented challenge, and from the very beginning, the actor showed his utmost commitment. To focus as best as possible, he even decided to deactivate his Instagram profile.
On several occasions, the Turkish star has committed to offering his audience the best possible version of Sandokan. For months, the actor has followed a very strict diet and undergone intense training to portray the Tiger of Malaysia as accurately as possible. Just a few weeks ago, the actor appeared in an interview about the series, which will premiere on Rai Uno in a few months. In his brief conversation on camera, he revealed some details about his role:
“I’ve done a lot of fighting training with knives and swords, and I’ve become an expert. I’ve learned how to ride a horse, and now I’m friends with horses.”
The actor always appears full of energy and looking fantastic with his makeup and costumes. Yaman also had to take diction lessons since the script was entirely in English. The cast includes Alessandro Preziosi as Yanez de Gomera, Ed Westwick as Lord Brooke, and newcomer Alanah Bloor as Lady Madianna.
