Ay Yapım and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ are joining forces once again, this time to bring the life of Necdet Elmas, known as the first Turkish gangster, to the screen as a series. The renowned actor Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ will also serve as a co-producer on this project alongside Ay Yapım.
Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ is teaming up with Ay Yapım once again after “Aile.” The life of Necdet Elmas, who became a major figure of public interest in the 1960s with his bank robberies and was known as the "first Turkish gangster" for his intelligence and charisma, will be brought to the screen. The script for the project, which is being developed as a series for a digital platform, will be written by Levent Cantek. One of the biggest surprises of the project is that Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ will be involved as a producer through his production company, Kampeon.
Necdet Elmas, who left his mark on Turkey's criminal history as the first bank robber and captivated the public not only with his crimes but also with his colorful and tumultuous life, will have his story brought to the screen. The series, inspired by the biography (Babam Gansterdi Ama Ben Çocuktum) "My Father Was a Gangster, But I Was Just a Child," written by Necdet Elmas’s son Yıldırım Elmas, will offer viewers a captivating and colorful crime drama set in 1960s Turkey. The show will take viewers into Necdet Elmas’s crime-filled world, covering his transformation from a bank-robbing gangster on the streets of Istanbul to his years in prison, his intriguing connections with prominent figures of the time, and his dramatic relationships with his family.
Ay Yapım and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s production company, Kampeon, are meticulously preparing to bring one of Turkey’s most interesting and thrilling criminal stories to the screen, with careful attention to the social and cultural context of the era.
