The Turkish media outlet Tv100 revealed that the famous Sabancı family, one of the wealthiest families in Turkey, has decided to sell the Sakıp Sabancı Mansion, owned by Şevket Sabancı, located in the Beylerbeyi area.
This very luxurious mansion, considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Beylerbeyi, gained immense fame after it was used as the filming location for the series Yalı Çapkını (The Kingfisher). In the show, the mansion was portrayed as the home of the grandfather "Halis Ağa," a character played by Turkish star Çetin Tekindor.
The Turkish media outlet mentioned that the family, which had been renting out the mansion for 600,000 lira to film scenes for the series and donating the rental income to various charities, has decided to sell it for a huge amount of 1 billion 250 million Turkish lira, approximately 37 million dollars.
This decision has raised many questions about whether the new owner of the luxurious mansion will allow it to be rented out to production companies in the future.
It is also worth noting that the Sabancı family had previously sold the yacht that was parked in front of the mansion, which appeared in several scenes, for 1 billion Turkish lira some time ago.
