Şımarık stands out as an international collaboration. While it was filmed in Turkey, its sound design was completed in Serbia, and the editing was done in Spain. The project also features contributions from professionals in Russia, India, and Kazakhstan. Social media has been buzzing about the film, which stars Kerem Bürsin as Mete, a spoiled, reckless, and irresponsible son of a wealthy family. Melis Sezen plays Asena, a woman who unexpectedly enters Mete’s life and turns it upside down.
Director Onur Ünlü shared his excitement about the project: “The story of our film offers something truly irresistible for a director. What happens if you suddenly send a spoiled modern-day young man 500 years into the past? We wanted to make this idea just as appealing to the audience, and I think we succeeded. The actors did an amazing job, and the technical team worked wonders. In the end, we created a fun and adventurous film that families can enjoy together.” The movie blends dramatic elements with humor, offering viewers a unique experience that explores the nuances of both the past and the present.
