Actor Onur Tuna addressed a recent issue on platform X about the complex web of relationships between actors’ managers and production companies, which has impacted casting decisions in Turkish TV series. He said:
"Workers' rights are like the voice of the oppressed. What do magazines have to do with this? As someone who has been in this industry for 15 years, I’m sure of one thing... messing with someone’s livelihood, meddling in matters that don’t concern you, taking what isn’t yours, and turning this profession into just a facade without real depth is shameful. Truly shameful!"
Journalist Birsen claimed from behind-the-scenes sources that Onur Tuna’s recent post might be a reaction to events on the set of the series annem ankara.
According to the information, Onur Tuna was a candidate for the role of Hasan. However, the role ultimately went to Mehmet Günsür after several interventions.
Rumors suggest that Ayşe Barım, who manages Mehmet Günsür, played a role in securing the part for him, especially after failed negotiations with other actors like Oktay Kaynarca and Ozan Akbaba.
Onur Tuna’s Response to Birsen:
"No, Ms. Birsen, that’s not how it is. This has nothing to do with the issue. I only spoke about the effort I’ve put in over 15 years. I wonder who helped you come to this conclusion?
I did audition for this project, as well as for many others. In the end, I chose to work on the Letters to the Future (Geleceğe Mektuplar) project, which happened to be at the same time.
