Berk Atan Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Turkish actor Berk Atan, star of the hit TV series Gönül Dağı, was seriously injured in a car accident last night while traveling from Istanbul to the filming location in Sivrihisar, located in the Eskişehir province.

The 34-year-old actor was immediately rushed into intensive care after the car he was in flipped several times while going downhill. He sustained serious injuries and had to be urgently transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The accident happened after a lunch break while the actor was riding in a small vehicle. Reports say the driver lost control, causing the car to roll over multiple times. Since Atan was not wearing a seatbelt and was seated in the back, he suffered significant injuries from the internal impact during the crash. Emergency teams transported him to a hospital in Eskişehir.

Medical examinations revealed fractures in his spine and ribs. His condition is considered serious, and he remains under close medical supervision in intensive care.

Adli Ferhat Işsiz, the producer of the series, confirmed that Berk Atan’s condition has stabilized, although he is still hospitalized.

The driver of the car is currently being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Witnesses have reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle just moments before it overturned, raising many questions about what exactly happened.

From Runways to Television Fame

Born on September 26, 1991, in Izmir, Berk Atan began his career in the spotlight as a model. He gained public attention after being named one of the “Most Promising Young Talents” at the Best Model of Turkey contest in 2011 and 2012.

He quickly transitioned into acting and became one of the most recognizable faces on Turkish television. His first major role was in the series Her Şey Yolunda, where he played Selçuk Demircioğlu.

He continued with a string of memorable roles, including Savaş in Güneşin Kızları and Selim in Cennet’in Gözyaşları.

However, it was his role as Taner Kaya in the hit dramedy Gönül Dağı, airing on Turkey’s national broadcaster TRT 1 since 2020, that truly launched him to stardom. The show has enjoyed massive success, running for four consecutive seasons, and has made Atan one of the most beloved actors in the country.
