Can Yaman is officially leaving Viola come il Mare. After months of speculation, fans' fears have been confirmed: the Turkish actor will not be part of the cast for the third season of the Canale 5 drama alongside Francesca Chillemi.

The news comes after Yaman’s growing international success, especially with two major productions: El Turco and Sandokan. In the historical drama El Turco, Yaman plays the Ottoman janissary Hasan Balaban alongside Italian actress Greta Ferro, showcasing his impressive skills in sword fighting, horseback riding, and intense romantic scenes. In Sandokan, the upcoming TV adaptation of Emilio Salgari’s adventure saga, he takes on the iconic role of the Tiger of Malaysia, with the series expected to premiere this fall on Rai 1.

With his rising fame and the fact that both El Turco and Sandokan have already been renewed for second seasons, many fans started to worry that something would have to give—and sadly, that something is Viola come il Mare.

The third season of the series has been in the works but has experienced delays due to the personal commitments of its stars, including Francesca Chillemi, who is currently expecting a child and going through a delicate pregnancy. She’ll only return to the role of Viola Vitale after giving birth. Now, fans’ concerns have been confirmed: Can Yaman will not return for Season 3.

As a result, Yaman has officially bowed out of Viola come il Mare, where he played Chief Inspector Francesco Demir.

Following the announcement, many of Yaman’s fans reacted with disappointment. His departure is particularly hard to accept since much of the show’s plot revolves around the dynamic between his character and Viola.
