Gupse Özay: We Haven’t Even Come Close to a Breakup...

Gupse Özay has spoken out about the divorce rumors and pregnancy claims that have been circulating about her marriage to Barış Arduç.

After a string of successful films, Özay is now appearing in her first digital project, Platonik, where she shares the lead roles with Kerem Bürsin and Öykü Karayel. She addressed the baseless allegations about her marriage on SHOW TV’s popular program Pazar Sürprizi, speaking with Ömür Sabuncuoğlu.

“We haven’t even come close to breaking up,” Özay said, adding that the false stories about her relationship are driven by the rush for clicks.

Earlier this summer, when reports claimed that her marriage to Barış Arduç was coming to an end, Gupse Özay didn’t respond. Soon after, she was photographed vacationing in Çeşme with her husband and their daughter, looking happy and relaxed.

Breaking her silence about the rumors, Özay responded to a question about the alleged divorce:

“Those stories always come out. According to the news, we’ve broken up a thousand times and gotten divorced twice. These stories keep appearing, but all these years, we haven’t even come close to separating.”

She then explained why the never-ending rumors about her marriage keep spreading:

“Probably one of the Instagram pages posts something like ‘It’s been claimed,’ and it gets clicks. Then the other pages panic and chase clicks too, and that’s how these stories happen. I don’t respond, because once you respond to one thing, you end up having to respond to all of it.”

Gupse Özay also said the claim that she is pregnant with her second baby is not true, adding:

“I’m not pregnant. I didn’t respond to that claim either. They even wrote about the baby’s gender, saying, ‘A boy is on the way.’ I’m not thinking about getting pregnant for a second time.”
