Doc was set to be directed by Ketche, who also sits in the director’s chair for Kızılcık Şerbeti. Claims that Ketche wanted to work with Sıla Türkoğlu instead of Alina Boz—and that an offer was made to Türkoğlu accordingly—quickly took over social media. It was later revealed that Alina Boz learned she had been dropped from the cast while she was on a flight. After everything that happened, Boz spoke for the first time about the issue.
