After Doğukan Güngör’s test reportedly came back positive, he was removed from the cast of Kızılcık Şerbeti following a sudden decision. Atakan Özkaya, who plays Kaya in the series Uzak Şehir, shared a message of support for Doğukan Güngör, known as “Fatih” in Kızılcık Şerbeti.
Reports say that blood and hair samples were taken from 19 people as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Doğukan Güngör also shared a statement, saying:
“I’ve just learned that I was removed following a decision made by Show TV’s management due to recent events. In this life, anyone can make mistakes—and yes, I made one too. But I have sincerely and honestly explained both to the Prosecutor’s Office and to the public that I have moved on from that mistake and that I am deeply regretful, and I had already started taking steps toward a clean life. I leave these cruel people and institutions—who don’t believe that everyone deserves a second chance—to their conscience, and I leave them to God.”
"However, I also want to clearly state to the public that I am standing strong, and by keeping the promise I made to myself to live a clean life, I will be back very soon with you—my dear supporters—in even better work.
In these difficult days, I sincerely thank all my friends, my dear fans, and my beloved family who have stood by me and never withheld their love. I’m so glad you exist."
