Can Yaman Announces: Sandokan Is Coming to Disney+, What a Major Win!

Can Yaman is celebrating the success of Sandokan. The TV series achieved impressive ratings and viewership on Rai 1, and now it has also caught the attention of a major international streaming platform—Disney+.

Can Yaman Thrilled as Sandokan Becomes a Hit

The gamble has paid off, and Sandokan has proven to be a major success. The project was launched five years ago thanks to Luca Bernabei of Lux Vide, but filming slowed down due to the pandemic. Eventually, the international cast was officially announced, featuring Can Yaman as the Tiger of Malaysia, Alessandro Preziosi as Yanez de Gomera, Alanah Bloor as Lady Marianna—also known as the Pearl of Labuan, who captures the heart of the fearless corsair—and British actor Ed Westwick as Lord Brooke. The series aired on Rai 1, consistently achieving very high ratings, and the episodes were later rewatched on the RaiPlay streaming platform, further confirming strong audience approval.

Sandokan has also reached America, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom, allowing Yaman to feel satisfied after waiting years for this remarkable project—one that can truly make him a globally recognized actor. While Can is currently working on a new TV series in Spain and spending New Year’s as a single in Dubai following his breakup with Sara Bluma—still unconfirmed but increasingly evident—another piece of good news has arrived for Sandokan.

Sandokan Lands on Disney+

Following its success on Rai 1, Sandokan continues to reach new milestones internationally. The TV series starring Can Yaman as the Tiger of Malaysia, based on the world-famous literary saga by Emilio Salgari, has also been acquired by the international streaming platform Disney+. All episodes will be available starting Saturday, January 17, 2026. This is undoubtedly a major achievement, as Disney represents a powerful global showcase and marks another win for the series and its international cast.

Yaman impressed audiences in the role of the fearless corsair, who becomes a symbol of liberation from British colonial oppression. The actor enthusiastically announced the news on his Instagram Stories, delighting his fans, who are ready to binge-watch once again the entire series produced by Lux Vide.
