Can Yaman has spoken out to clarify the events surrounding rumors of his alleged arrest in Turkey. The actor stated firmly, “There was no arrest; I was simply detained,” adding, “I cooperated fully with the police.”

Can Yaman is once again addressing the situation that made him a reluctant headline-grabber in recent weeks. Reports from Turkey had suggested he was arrested during an anti-drug operation involving searches of various nightclubs. In reality, the actor was briefly detained and released almost immediately after no illegal substances were found in his possession. In a recent interview, he clarified: “I want to make it clear that there was no arrest.”

The Truth Behind the "Arrest" in Turkey

Yaman explained that he was visiting a venue he frequently haunts while in Turkey. “People know me there and I take a lot of photos, so it wasn't a surprise—they knew I was there.” He noted that he simply found himself in the middle of a routine sweep. “The police do this often. Officers arrive and search everyone.” According to the actor, the authorities focused on him primarily because of his high profile:

“They didn't find anything, but they saw me and detained me because I’m famous. They have to do their checks; it’s their procedure. I don’t know exactly why they singled me out, but they found nothing on me—which is only natural. They let me go shortly after because there was nothing to find.”

Full Cooperation with Authorities

The Sandokan star emphasized that he was completely transparent with the police to prove he had nothing to hide. “I took the tests, I cooperated with them, and I immediately gave them my phone and password. They checked everything; they took a hair sample and a blood sample. Then, they let me go.”

By the following day, the actor had already returned to Italy. On social media, he urged the Italian press not to fall for the "fake news" being circulated by certain Turkish media outlets.
