After the arrest, the actor gave a statement to investigators, and no arrest warrant against him was ever confirmed. According to some Turkish media outlets, although Yaman was not originally a target of officers from the department investigating smuggling, narcotics, and economic crimes, he was included in the raid following a report about alleged drug use. Back in Italy, the Sandokan star pointed out that the Turkish press has often not been kind to him, while praising the care shown by the Italian press—before addressing them directly with a message:

According to the Turkish press, following a search, illegal substances were allegedly found on the actor. Along with him, however, fellow actress Selen Görgüzel was also arrested. Everyone stopped during the raid—which involved nine well-known venues in Turkey’s nightlife scene—was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute to undergo blood tests.
