Demet Özdemir’s interview with gazete magazin at the ELLE Style Awards.

Interviewer: What do you say when you see these compliments? (about Bradley Cooper)
Demet Özdemir: First of all, I was very surprised. I love being open and honest, I won't filter myself on this. At first I couldn't believe it, but then I thought—the success of Turkish series, their global reach and numbers are already well-known. So I just switched to enjoying the moment. I found it especially nice and sweet that his mother watches. Of course the series is very loved, and it's not just something personal I did.
(Overlay narrator: She may speak modestly, but Özdemir's confidence while setting high goals is undeniable.)
Demet Özdemir: So clearly, reaching the world isn't impossible. It's a beautiful proof of how fast we've touched hearts in any country—it's truly wonderful. I didn't take this compliment just for myself. I take it for my country too, let's say it that way.
Interviewer: But actually it was a personal compliment.
Demet Özdemir: Yes, don't make me speak now 
Interviewer: Demet, next stop Hollywood!
Demet Özdemir: We could go even just for vacation. Anyway, it's possible—we were just talking about it. Targeting something like that was never my goal. Of course, I try to act calm and cool like it's not on my mind, but it's not entirely off the table. Those places are wonderful too. I really love my country. I'm someone who truly enjoys being part of productions here. 
Interviewer: What does friendship mean to Demet Özdemir? What does being a friend mean?
Demet Özdemir: At its core, there's always love. There's loyalty too, I think, and of course trust. But to me, real friendship truly sees every phase of your life, every emotion. Friends can come and go, but what stays is something much more miraculous—that's what friendship means to me. It's irreplaceable. You're there for each other no matter what. Honestly, I don't like when people use the word casually. Sure, there might be some truth to it, but I don't want to believe that. As long as people are genuinely good-hearted, you can make friends anywhere and build friendships.
