Demet Özdemir: You realize you caught [me] at the airport, right?
Reporter : Welcome back, Ms. Demet. How are you? You good? I’m Mustafa. Should we walk [while we talk]? Because it’s gotten very late. Look at this [crowd]. Slowly, but okay... Yes... Ms. Demet, is he with you?
Demet Özdemir: Yes, yes, he’s a friend.
Reporter: Yes, okay. Yes. Hello. Welcome, by the way. How are you, Ms. Demet? How is it going?
Demet Özdemir: Good, honestly. It was a one-and-a-half-day vacation for me. That’s why I’m incredibly tired. Plus, there was quite a lot of snow where I went. We got a bit cold, too, actually. Is everything on track with you guys?
Reporter: Thank God, everything is great. It’s going very well. We were waiting for the series. You took quite a break.
Demet Özdemir: Yes, actually we had filmed the episode. We were ahead [of schedule], but we could only manage a five or six-day holiday.
Reporter: That was good, then.
Demet Özdemir: Yes, just a little bit left.
Reporter: So, what did you do for New Year's?
Demet Özdemir: I was just at home; I didn't leave the house at all. And it snowed around midnight. It was beautiful. Uh, those parts—my area, I mean—were quite enjoyable.
Reporter: What did we wish for in the new year?
Demet Özdemir: Honestly, first of all, let there be health, let there be peace. Most importantly, honestly, let there be work and abundance. What else? I imagine everyone probably wishes for the same things.
Reporter: Uh, how is the series going?
Demet Özdemir: It’s going very well. It’s going great. I mean, we are getting great reactions. You guys are probably following it, too.
Reporter: Definitely.
Demet Özdemir: Honestly, we’ve caught a really good energy. All my fellow actors, the whole technical team behind the camera—it’s all very good. We’ve gotten used to each other. Everything is on track.
Reporter: Everyone had a [memorable] line, and after the... after the background [credits], something pops up on social media, clips of them performing come out. Whether it’s the music they make... we all have our own separate things happening, being talked about. For example, Görkem... those moves Mr. Görkem made became quite a hot topic.
Demet Özdemir: Exactly. Exactly, it was really fun, honestly. Everyone is so talented that every week, a different actor definitely leaves their signature on the episode. So, I’m very happy about that. I’m very proud on behalf of our work.
Reporter: Will you be doing anything in the new episode?
Demet Özdemir: Well, definitely. I say [I will] once every episode, but whatever I say now, the opposite happens. So, let's see, I don't know.
Reporter: What about a singing career? Did they get stuck on [asking about] professionalism?
Demet Özdemir: No, I’m not considering it. They’ll highly likely edit me like this again. I’m really not considering it; I’m so busy. You already know. Since my main passion is acting and I love working, I don’t think I can spare the time for that. But it turned out so nicely with this character. [We] caught good momentum, but there’s no album release or anything like that. I’m not thinking about such a thing right now.
Reporter: Well, new series have come out too, you know. They are getting good viewership as well.
Demet Özdemir: Yes, yes. I mean, I can't follow them, to be honest. But I tried to catch up a bit during these breaks. And I will try to. May everyone’s path be open. It’s very hard. Uh, I mean, it’s hard to make [a show] stick. The right day... the luck, the charm, the abundance—they’re all separate factors. So I can just say, may everyone’s path be open.
Reporter: Mr. Çağatay's lines are getting talked about too, as usual.
Demet: Yes, our dear writer and team make sure every week one actor leaves a signature mark. For the dialogues, yes.
Reporter: There are sometimes rumors that the show is ending, but we definitely didn't believe them.
Demet: No, no—the ratings are way above, and it's going strong. I'm wearing a nazar boncuk to ward off the evil eye, but I don't think they'd end something going this well. No one would believe it anyway.
Reporter: Welcome back then.
Demet Özdemir: Thank you very much. Happy New Year to you all.
Reporter: Don't mention it. Please forgive us.
Demet Özdemir: If it were up to me, I’d do an interview for two days. Let's keep going until morning.
