Il Labirinto delle Farfalle: Mediaset Buys the Spanish Series Starring Can Yaman — Coming Soon to Canale 5

Good news for Can Yaman fans: Mediaset has reportedly acquired Il Labirinto delle Farfalle, the new Spanish drama series led by the Turkish star, currently in production in Spain, and set to air on Canale 5 in the near future.

Mediaset acquires Il Labirinto delle Farfalle

After the strong response to Sandokan — the series inspired by Emilio Salgari’s famous adventure cycle — Can Yaman is now busy on a new set in Spain. The actor previously teased this project while promoting his “Tiger of Malaysia,” explaining that he took Spanish diction lessons with a native-speaking coach and chose the role because it’s completely different from what he has done before.

The new series is titled Il Labirinto delle Farfalle. The first official cast photos have already been released, showing Yaman as a former agent who is wrongly accused and must fight to protect his honor and prove his innocence. The story unfolds as a romantic thriller, where love is central — but not always in a comforting or positive way.

Filming has been underway in recent weeks, and Yaman has shared a few behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram that quickly set social media buzzing. Meanwhile, as viewers wait to learn more, Mediaset’s announcement has only added to the excitement.

Coming soon on Canale 5

Can Yaman remains hugely popular in Italy, where he has lived for about five years after moving there for Sandokan — a project that faced major delays during the pandemic. Over time, he has taken on increasingly challenging roles, pushing himself not only with demanding performances but also through foreign-language acting and intense physical preparation.

For Sandokan, for example, he reportedly lost around ten kilos in less than a month while building balanced muscle mass to stay quick and agile for the action-heavy sequences — which he performed himself, without stunt doubles.

Now, with Il Labirinto delle Farfalle, Yaman steps into a new genre and a new language, and Mediaset’s purchase suggests Italian audiences won’t have to wait too long to see it. For his fans, it’s a clear answer to the big question: where will the series air in Italy? Soon, on Canale 5.
