The series Doc, which is counting down the days until it meets viewers, made headlines with a lead-role crisis before cameras even started rolling. After İbrahim Çelikkol was announced as the male lead, it was reported that an agreement had been reached with Alina Boz for the female lead.
Once it was announced that the series would be directed by Ketche—who is also the director of Kızılcık Şerbeti—new behind-the-scenes claims began circulating. It was alleged that Ketche wanted to work with Sıla Türkoğlu instead of Alina Boz, and that an offer was made to Türkoğlu accordingly.
One of the most striking details in the process was the revelation that Alina Boz found out she had been removed from the project while she was on a flight.
Boz commented on the situation by saying:
“I don’t really want to talk about it too much. When the excitement of starting out with a team is high, the disappointment can be just as big. But life opens new doors, and in the end, you find yourself saying, ‘I’m glad.’
SHE TOOK IT TO COURT
According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Alina Boz took the decision to remove her from Doktor: Başka Hayatta to court at the last minute. The actress reportedly donated the compensation paid through a settlement to Darüşşafaka.
Sıla Türkoğlu, meanwhile, made the following statement in response to the claims:
“They couldn’t come to an agreement. After they couldn’t agree, they came to me. This isn’t about me. Alina is also a friend and an actress I love and admire,” she said.
