Just days ago, we noted how the press—and media at large—tend to fixate on tabloid fodder regarding Can Yaman rather than celebrating his career milestones. Yet, with the international smash of Sandokan, the acclaim he’s garnering in Spain for El Turco, and the anticipation building for The Butterfly Labyrinth (the romantic thriller currently filming), one would advise scribes to focus primarily on his professional conquests.
Above all, as we’ve highlighted, the media is lending far too much weight to a supposed "scoop" by a Spanish journalist featuring photos of a dinner between the Turkish actor and Lorena Ramiro. The 22-year-old Spanish influencer appears far more interested in riding the wave of visibility by being seen next to Yaman than in actually weaving a relationship with him.
Is Can Yaman a naive fool who fell for a trap? Absolutely not. The actor is well-versed in handling chatter about his persona. However, he likely underestimated the influencer's true intentions. The moment the gossip exploded, she first poured her heart out in a social media post addressing the criticism raining down on her, only to immediately pivot to giving interviews—somewhat bizarre behavior for someone who keeps insisting she wants to respect her own privacy.
In truth, Ramiro reveals nothing beyond the dinner shared with Yaman—an event likely orchestrated in collusion with the Spanish journalist who leaked the photos. The content shows neither intimate gestures nor any details suggesting a relationship. The only person convinced of this romance seems to be the influencer herself, who today spun her version of events as a guest on Caterina Balivo’s La Volta Buona.
Lorena Ramiro Speaks on La Volta Buona
Even on the Rai1 talk show, Ramiro added nothing new. Faced with the host’s persistence in trying to extract dirt on the pseudo-flirtation, the influencer remained decidedly vague. As always, she made a point of reiterating that she is single, brushed off the criticism she’s received, and implied she is in contact with Can via text.
"I was engaged to Pedri, the Barcelona midfielder, but that relationship is over and I am single," the Spanish influencer made sure to clarify for the umpteenth time. She then claimed she felt no awkwardness during dinner with Can Yaman: "I wasn't embarrassed at all; he is a fun person and cracked jokes all night. I’ve always dated people older than me [Pedri is 23] so the age gap isn't a problem."
Where the 22-year-old seemed to struggle was in recounting the alleged "after-dinner" portion of the evening—which evidently didn't happen, given the palpable awkwardness following the question. "Obviously there was an after-dinner, but I won't talk about it because it remains a private matter between us. I leave it to your imagination, even though I cannot deny the evidence."
What evidence? Has someone informed Ramiro that the only evidence consists of three snapshots in the hotel restaurant where Yaman is staying, and that absolutely nothing can be perceived from them?
The young Spaniard’s embarrassment seemed to spike when asked if she would follow Yaman to Sanremo: "I don't know if I'll be at Sanremo; I'm enjoying the moment." Facing a somewhat baffled Caterina Balivo, the influencer doubled down: "It wasn't just a dinner, but I don't intend to add anything else out of respect for him [Yaman] and our private life."
A "private life" that no one is aware of—apparently, not even Yaman.
