Can Yaman Has Sued Him. The Turkish Actor’s Move Against a Well-Known Italian Gossip Journalist

On the stage of the Teatro Ariston, Italian audiences applauded him alongside Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini during the opening night of the Sanremo Festival. But while the spotlight of the iconic event lit up the face of the star who rose to fame through hit Turkish dramas, a very different story was quietly unfolding in Rome, far from the cameras.

His name, in fact, landed in the offices of the Rome prosecutor’s office, along with that of his former partner, DJ and producer Sara Bluma. Can Yaman and Bluma have decided to file a defamation complaint against Alessandro Rosica, known online as “the social investigator,” who is followed by more than one million people on Instagram.

At the center of the case are posts, stories, and comments published on social media—content which, according to the complainants, went far beyond the bounds of free opinion. Among the statements being challenged, one in particular stands out above the rest: Rosica allegedly claimed that it was the musician who had “spilled everything” to Turkish police when Yaman was stopped and later released in Istanbul as part of a drug-related investigation. According to the filed documents, that accusation led to the submission of three separate complaints: the first signed jointly by both Yaman and Bluma, and the other two filed exclusively by the DJ.

The relationship between the Turkish actor and the producer was brief, lasting only a few months before ending last summer. Yet that period, according to the first complaint—drafted with the assistance of attorney Claudio Breda—was marked by “gratuitous attacks” and “completely false reports.” According
to the legal filings, the media pressure had a profound impact on the musician’s private and professional life.

It is Bluma herself who recounts how it all allegedly began: “As soon as I got together with Can, he immediately started publishing falsehoods and insults,” Bluma told La Repubblica. “I didn’t even know who he was. I’m completely outside the gossip world and I don’t want to be part of it. But the situation is serious.” Her words convey the climate of tension that has defined the past few months.

The DJ describes a “media storm” that, on January 10, “reached unimaginable levels of madness.” In those hours, after news broke that the actor had been arrested and then released as part of a narcotics investigation reportedly involving several well-known figures in Istanbul, Rosica allegedly wrote on Instagram: “He may have been betrayed by his ex, who allegedly tipped off the authorities.”

That statement, according to the complaint, marked the point of no return.

Bluma forcefully rejects every allegation: “According to him, I would have alerted the Turkish government from Italy to have Can arrested. Do we realize how absurd that sounds? It’s insane even to think about it. But the worst part is that people believe it.” From there, she says, what followed was a full-scale shitstorm made up of insults and threats.

“He called me a drug addict, a bad mother, a mess. He said I had abandoned my son to be with Can. Psychologically, it was devastating. And I won’t hide the fact that it also caused me serious professional problems.
"I am a DJ, and image is fundamental for me.,” Bluma continues.

According to the court filings, the fallout did not stop at her personal life. The accusations eventually spilled over onto her six-year-old son from a previous relationship.

“He is little, and fortunately he still doesn’t understand these things. But people talk at school. And hearing made-up stories about his mother is not good for him. He’s only six years old, and he could be seriously affected by these accusations.”

It is a detail that makes the matter even more sensitive—and helps explain the decision to take legal action.

The first complaint was filed on August 23 and bore the joint signatures of Can Yaman and Sara Bluma. The producer later filed two additional complaints, the most recent dated January 13.

Now it will be up to the Rome prosecutor’s office to examine the content of the posts and determine whether there are sufficient grounds to proceed.
