Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta to Star in Bro: The Duo Reunites in Rome for the Launch of Strike

Following the wrap of filming for Il labirinto delle farfalle (El laberinto de las mariposas) in Spain, Can Yaman has returned to Rome. A few days ago, he made a surprise appearance at the capital's premiere of Strike: figli di un’era sbagliata, the film starring Giovanni Nasta. Nasta will be Yaman's upcoming co-star in the sitcom Bro—a project co-created and co-written by the duo, which is soon to begin production under Lux Vide.

Shedding the persona of the brooding Agent Kaplan from the series filmed in Spain, the Turkish star will take on a completely new kind of role. He will play a shy young man who is hopelessly awkward with women, while Giovanni will play the "cool" friend, offering a clever role reversal from real life. In the sitcom, Nasta will offer Yaman tips on how to be charming and interesting—a dynamic between the two that already promises to be hilarious and full of surprises.

Filming is set to begin next summer. In the fall, Can will then be busy shooting the second season of Sandokan (currently scheduled for October, though the date could still be pushed back, ed.). This delay is necessary to allow for the promotion of the hit television series in the Asian market, particularly in Japan and South Korea.

Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta: A Friendship Born on the Set of Viola come il mare

Can Yaman and Giovanni Nasta are close friends, having first met on the set of Viola come il mare, where the Turkish actor played Inspector Demir and Giovanni played his assistant, Turi D’Agata. "I can proudly say that I have found a true brother in Can, and that means more to me than anything," the Roman actor shared during the filming of the Mediaset TV series' second season. "When one of us is down, the other is ready to help. He is practically part of my family now," he concluded.

This strong bond is entirely mutual for Yaman, who made sure not to miss the Rome premiere of Strike: figli di un’era sbagliata, written by Nasta himself alongside Gabriele Berti and Diego Tricarico. The trio not only co-wrote and co-directed the film but also star in it, alongside a cast that includes Pilar Fogliati, Massimo Ceccherini, and Matilde Gioli. The film tells the story of three young people whose destinies intertwine during a Roman summer at a pathological addiction treatment center—a brilliant comedy that is not to be missed.
