While continuing to receive awards and promote his international TV series, Can Yaman has once again found himself at the center of criticism from the Turkish press following a scathing attack by producer Faruk Turgut.


Yaman publicly defended himself on Instagram, getting more than a few things off his chest. The actor had previously experienced disagreements with the producer, and now that he is a highly popular and respected international star, he has been able to explain what happened, casting Turgut in an unfavorable light while defending his own career.

After seeing reports in the Turkish press attacking his appearance and accusing him of suddenly gaining weight, Can Yaman decided to respond—and he did so masterfully.

The Turkish actor posted a shirtless photo of himself showing off his defined abs and muscular arms, followed by a lengthy statement:


“Don’t worry: I weigh 105 kilograms, but I have muscle everywhere. When I wear a suit or certain clothes, I simply look broader—I haven’t gained weight. They say my skin color has changed, that I’ve put on weight, that I’m finished... But I’m not like everyone else. I’m a professional. If a role requires it, I can gain or lose weight—I do whatever is necessary. And I have absolutely no intention of neglecting myself or letting myself go. Instead, focus on taking care of yourselves and don’t neglect exercise. Don’t expect me to stop training, fall apart or ruin myself. You won’t hurt me with these articles—you’ve been trying for years.”


Yaman publicly accused the Turkish press of constantly belittling him and described the attack on his physical appearance as deeply sad. However, it has hardly discouraged him, considering that, objectively speaking, he looks like a Greek god.


After all, fans have already seen him on the new cover of Hi Celeb Magazine—so why continue making something out of nothing simply to attack him?
