Crew Member Reveals the Real Reason Eşref Rüya Ended

Eşref Rüya, which topped the ratings during its first season on Kanal D and continued to perform strongly despite slipping to second place after Yeraltı premiered, shocked everyone with its sudden finale. The season may be over, but the reason behind Eşref Rüya’s cancellation remains unclear. 

Numerous claims have emerged about why the series ended, and popular crew member Yener Yalçın has now offered his own explanation.

Airing on Kanal D and starring Demet Özdemir and Çağatay Ulusoy, Eşref Rüya came to an end amid a wave of speculation.

The most widely discussed claim was that Çağatay Ulusoy’s girlfriend, Aslıhan Malbora, frequently visited the set and caused tension during his scenes with Demet Özdemir. Although the allegations were denied, reports that several cast members unfollowed one another—particularly Çağatay Ulusoy—after the finale only fueled further speculation.

Crew member Yener Yalçın responded to the question, “Why did Eşref Rüya end?”

Explaining the situation with an example, Yalçın said the real reason was that those involved had simply “grown tired of it.” According to him, when a production is no longer bringing in as much money as it once did, the actors and production team begin to lose interest, and the project eventually comes to an end.
