Turns Out Those Famous Couples We Swoon Over On Screen Actually Hated Each Other Behind the Scenes!

Journalists Birsen Altuntaş and Elçin Ateş revealed the real behind-the-scenes relationships of some of television’s most beloved lead couples, whose chemistry viewers adored, during a program they appeared on. Apparently, while we were melting over their love stories on screen, they were practically at each other’s throats behind the cameras!

Birsen Altuntaş appeared on Elçin Ateş’s YouTube program Dolu TV and made statements that are sure to shake up the agenda.

While discussing the forced professionalism required in the television industry, Elçin Ateş first brought up two major names who recently appeared in the same project: Çağatay Ulusoy and Demet Özdemir.

“Çağatay Ulusoy and Demet Özdemir were not on very good terms. But I think they still delivered very strong performances. That is a huge success. Just imagine: there is someone you simply don’t click with. Someone whose communication style and energy don’t match yours. And yet, you still have to portray a love story with that person,” Ateş said.

After that, the discussion turned to Neslihan Atagül and Burak Özçivit, the duo who took the world by storm with Kara Sevda.

You remember Kemal and Nihan, the legendary lovers of Kara Sevda, don’t you? The series became a global phenomenon when it aired and remains the first and only Turkish drama in television history to win an International Emmy Award. As it turns out, that passionate love story was apparently built on pure hatred behind the scenes!

Birsen Altuntaş summed up the intense behind-the-scenes conflict during the filming of the series with the following words:

“Kara Sevda won an Emmy. In Kara Sevda, Burak Özçivit and Neslihan Atagül acted while hating each other. Whenever I watched it, I always wondered this: how can two actors who don’t like each other and are so at odds manage to perform like that?”

Even though years have passed since the series wrapped, the ice between them hasn't melted; on the contrary, it's practically turned into an arctic freeze. The fact that Neslihan Atagül, who is set to return to the screens, said "No way" when asked whether she would ever act alongside Burak Özçivit again pretty much says it all.
