Kanal D applied to the Istanbul 7th Commercial Court of First Instance on June 8, 2020, and filed a lawsuit against Gold Film Sinemacılık Anonim Şirketi regarding the "Bay Yanlış" series. Demirören TV Radyo Yayıncılık Anonim Şirketi (Acquired Yelda Haber ve Görsel Yayıncılık), to which the channel is affiliated, stated in its petition that they had agreed in principle with the production company Gold Film for the series, which will be written by Aslı and Banu Zengin and starring Can Yaman, but after the production company requested some corrections during the contract stage, they agreed with FOX TV logo channel with the title Huzur Radyo TV, and this situation caused them financial damage.
Kanal D stated that they made their advertising agreements for the 2020 summer season based on the Bay Yanlış series and did not take any other series beforehand, stating that their total loss for 13 episodes of the series was 14 million 672 thousand 368 TL and demanded this money from the production company.
Gold Film, represented by lawyer Hakan Ayranpınar, stated that Kanal D's compensation claim was unjust because there was no official contract. The case, which lasted for 3 years, was concluded and the court rejected Kanal D's material and moral compensation claim due to "lack of passive hostility".
